Psalm 23:5-6

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

How do you feel when you are invited to someone's home for dinner and when you get there you find a beautiful table set just for honoring you-the guest-?
Now, what do you do when you have guests coming over? Do you clean your house? organize it? Set the table with fine linen and your most expensive china? Well you are the guest and God is the HOST.

God goes in front of us and prepare a beautiful feast for us, a provision,  in the presence of this wicked and broken world HE honors us, HE pampers us because HE longs for us. HE created us to worship HIM and to honor HIM and to look up to HIM all of the days of of lives and HE has the table set just waiting to receive us. Ever wonder why Israel is so blessed no matter how small this country is and how surrounded by its enemy it's still a powerful nation? That's were it all started the promise land GOD appointed for HIS people. We are HIS people and our final promised land is here on earth.

You anoint my head with oil;

My cup overflows.

Anoint: To put oil on during a religious ceremony as a sign of sanctification or consecration

GOD blesses us, sanctifies us when we trust him, when we believe in him to the point were we feel joy (Comfort, peace) no matter what we are going through. He provides love, forgiveness, purpose and identity and he meets our physical needs which is wonderful,  but the truth is that none of these compares to the food for the soul that HE provides us with. HE fills that emptiness and that constant seeking for the unreal happiness. Ever wonder why nothing quenches you.. You've tried everything and nothing works.

⁶ Jesus said: "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me" John 4:14

Surely goodness and love will follow me

All the days of my life;

And I will dwell^[a] in the house of the Lord

Forever. 

Do you want goodness and love in your life? Do you want fullfilness? No matter what comes to you? God is telling you goodness will follow you if you chose to follow HIM. If you put your trust in him you ail live in HIS house forever. Can you picture yourself living near the Mighty one, the GOD all powerful. I definitely can, I definitely trust HIM and I definitely believe that GOD has prepare a table for me and my daughters up there with HIM in HIS magnificent home.

Ok. I have not gotten any comments from anyone, but that doesn't mean no one has been saved because I have almost 600 views and at least one of you must have been saved. You don't need to make yourself public (although JESUS publicly travel spreading the Gospel and publicly got baptized by John the baptist) just know that I will really love to hear from you and to know that my work for the LORD is getting out there. That's what I'm here for. to publicly spread the good news of salvation.

Psalm 23:4 Fears!

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, 

The valley of the shadow of death. To understand the meaning of this sentence we have to understand  that valleys are fears. Fears that Cripple us and debilitate us. Many of us are going through our own valleys and we have to be very careful because fear has the power of parallizing us. Fear is a very powerful emotion that makes us loose courage to get out of the valley. Fear does not come from God for God's perfect love casts out fear. HE has not given us a spirit of fear. Fear is from the enemy because he wants us there, buried in our own valleys.

I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff,

 they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

But the good news is that even though we walk through our troubles, our problems, our hurts. Even though we have been betrayed, even though we feel drowning in them and we can't even gasp for air the Lord's mission is to lead us through the valley step by step with the rod, like a Shepherd does with his sheep. When we go through valleys, God is with us. The deeper our valley is,  the closer we want to get to him, close to him. Because we were meant to have this intimacy with him. God wants us to talk to HIM about our fears, to talk to our own fears. But HE doesn't want us talking to ourselves, for when we do WE make our own decisions and we are not able to help ourselves when you are this deep..my pastor Rick Blackwood from Christ Fellowship said in one of his sermons: "Great power is released when you speak to your fear about the power of your God." The God Almighty. Powerfull sentence!

God wants us to come to HIM, to trust him completely and to know that HE is with us, taking care of us, providing for us. If you could only give it a try! God's love is so overpowering. HE was there yesterday, HE is here today and HE is there tomorrow waiting for you, longing for you just to reach out to HIM.. I remember before I came to know JESUS I used to be so fearful of everything.. my fears will not let me in peace. I felt so miserable, I was abnormally afraid of death of what could ever happen to me to my daughters it was so horrible, I was so depressed until my valleys became SO deep that I had to reach out to him, pleading for help!

And then I found HIM and my life changed completely.. It's still changing day by day, step by step. In God's timing not in mine. But I reach to HIM every time.

Psalm 23: 2-3

He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

God gives us rest from the YOKES we put upon ourselves (taken from CF Students) . He says "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.. If we could only understand that God can take care of us in EVERYTHING we need if we only trust him. We will not find rest until we find rest in God. We will not feel real freedom until we receive the freedom from our own righteousness and from the slavery of sin; until we understand and accept that the only righteous person is HIM..

He leads me beside the still waters

He leads us into peace. What a more wonderful way to put it. God gives us rest and peace. "He leads me besides still waters." Oh my! I love it. It makes me feel so important and so loved that God holds me by my hands and like a toddler learning to walk he takes me into calm, still, peaceful waters. Just as toddlers trust their parents to hold their hands and lead them securely that same way I want to always trust my Lord and savior!

He restores my soul;

I love this part. "He restores my soul" Our souls are broken; sadly, most of the times, when we come to JESUS is because our souls can't take it any more, because we have been hurt so much and we remember that GOD is there longingly waiting for us to love HIM to search HIM. And when we do...we are renewed.. restored.. I love it because it says "HE restores my soul" in the present tense.. He is constantly restoring it over and over and over and over.. making us new and white as snow..

He leads me in the paths of righteousness

Again, He grabs our hands and guides us into the righteous path, to live the righteous life that He wants us all to live; not perfect because none of us can be as perfect as JESUS but trusting HIM that whenever we fall he will surely be beside us grabbing our hands and leading us into righteousness.. How beautiful and assuring.

For His name’s sake. Psalm 23: 2-3

Last but not least.. For His name's sake... for HIM and only for HIM because He deserves all of US because He made us, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb" Psalm 139:13 . He created the heavens and the earth and placed us here to love HIM to worship HIM because doing this should fill us up like a cup with water. Give it a try. sing to God, worship him day and night trust him and let HIM lead your life.. stop worrying about tomorrow for GOD is already there, stop worrying about today because HE is also here with you..

I remember a couple of years ago I was laid off from work and the weekend was coming and I had no money and as a mother of two I was so worried about what to feed my girls and I prayed and said God you know our needs and I trust you completely.. you know what to do.. and that Friday I received a check from Baptist Hospital with a letter that said that I over paid a bill.. Me? over pay anything.. how could it be? well it was.. and it was all because I knew that God will provide for my family and I confessed to HIM that there was nothing I could do on my own.

Are you ready to trust HIM?

Sheep of Heaven: The Lord is my Shepherd

Sheep of Heaven: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

If the Lord is your Shepherd there is nothing in this world that you will need that GOD will not provide. All of your wants are not needs... If you really have GOD in you, you will understand that there's nothing in this world that will quench your thirst, nothing that you could ever want will replace the love and the peace that only GOD can provide.

When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. John 10:4

If your hope and attention is set in your parents, your partner, your kids, or material things then they become your GOD and no human can ever equaled to God's perfection. They will never be able to provide you or fill all of your spiritual needs. This is only fulfilled independently between you and GOD.

Don't get me wrong, having people you love and that love you back is good. It is an example of GOD's love. But when all of your love, all of your hopes are set only in things and people of this world you will find out sooner or later that none of these can ever give you what you need. That they will disappoint you, make you sad or even hurt you, But GOD does not...HIS love is enough, HIS love is everlasting and no matter what you do HE will always love you and forgive you if true repentance is in your heart, even if you decide not to, HE pursues you and HE wants you to love him and follow him. But GOD in HIS infinite love for us made us with a free will because HE wants us to want him, because we choose to, not because he make us want HIM.

Every sheep needs a Shepherd. WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD? Material things?  Someone else? Lust? drugs? food? or JESUS?

GOD wants you to come to HIM.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

GOD wants to be your LORD, your Shepherd, all you need is to confess with your mouth that you believe that JESUS is the son of GOD. That he came to this world to pay for my sins…for your sins.. so that you become alive in him

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Psalm 23: 2-3

The Lord is my Shepherd

Shepherd:

Noun: A person who tends or rears sheep

Verb: Tend (sheep) as a Shepherd

Psalm 23:1

Sheep tend to wander and are defenseless, 

Exposed to any other stronger predator. 

That's when the shepherd takes a strong and important position in the care of his sheep, a Shepherd makes sure his sheep are within his eyesight. If one of them wanders off he runs to it and guides it to join the others. 

DO YOU SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE?

GOD= Shepherd

SHEEP=Us- His followers

If we wander off the Lord will pursue us and lead us back to his eyesight, to his protection. 

If the Lord is your Shepherd there is no valley he can't get you through, He shepherds us through our darkest hours, He pursues us, He meets our spiritual needs and restores our soul (Pastor Rick Blackwood from Christ Fellowship).
